Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician TenMed Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine — Atlanta, GA area (multiple clinic locations)
About the Role
TenMed Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician to join our growing team. You'll play a vital role in operating our hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chambers, ensuring safe and effective treatment for patients with chronic wounds and other conditions that respond to hyperbaric medicine. This role requires the flexibility to support multiple clinic locations in the greater Atlanta area as needed.
What You'll Do
- Prepare patients for treatment, including reviewing medical histories for contraindications and explaining the procedure
- Operate and monitor monoplace hyperbaric chambers, controlling pressurization, oxygen levels, and treatment timing per protocol
- Continuously monitor patients during sessions for signs of distress or complications
- Respond promptly to medical or technical emergencies, coordinating with clinical staff as needed
- Maintain and troubleshoot chamber equipment and oxygen delivery systems
- Accurately document treatments, patient reactions, chamber pressures, and equipment maintenance
- Support a safe, calm, and reassuring environment for patients who may be anxious or in pain
What We're Looking For
- Background in healthcare (nursing, respiratory therapy, EMS, or similar) preferred
- Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) credential through NBDHMT preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, steady presence under pressure
- Manual dexterity and comfort troubleshooting equipment
- Ability to travel between clinic locations as scheduling requires
