Under the direction of the WIC Program Manager, the Nutrition Counselor provides nutrition counseling to WIC eligible participants. This position establishes WIC eligibility, determines nutritional risk factors, performs nutrition assessments, documents health and social service referrals, provides food and formula packages, breastfeeding support, and enters data into the WIC data application system. The Nutrition Counselor travels throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties to provide WIC services and to implement outreach and participant retention activities.

The pay range for this position is $25.18 to $33.89 per hour. This position is part-time with an anticipated hours per week of 28 hours that may change based on business needs. Part-time employees accrue leave time and may be eligible for a 401(a)-retirement plan with employer contribution, and dental, vision, and life insurance.
