We are currently hiring an instructor for a recurring 30-minute Music Makers class located at a preschool in Dickinson, Texas 77539 on Tuesday mornings. Applicants must be available to travel to Dickinson during weekday daytime hours and commit to the class’s regular weekly schedule from September through May.
PlayMotion Kids is hiring a part-time Preschool Music Makers Instructor for our upcoming academic-year season, running September through May.
This is a mobile teaching position. The instructor will travel to a local preschool or childcare center in Dickinson to lead a structured, playful music-and-movement class for toddler preschool-age children.
The Music Makers program uses songs, rhythm, movement, instruments, stories, imaginative play, and developmentally appropriate activities to help young children explore foundational musical concepts while building confidence, coordination, creativity, listening skills, and self-expression.
Musical expertise or a formal music degree is not required. We provide the curriculum, lesson plans, music, equipment, teaching materials, and paid training needed to lead the class successfully.

Academic-Year Schedule
- Classes run from September through May
- This position is for a recurring class located in Dickinson, Texas 77539
- The Music Makers class is 30 minutes long
- Classes are offered during weekday daytime hours
- School holidays and scheduled program breaks are observed
- Additional classes may become available based on instructor availability, location, and program enrollment
This is not a traditional shift-based position. The instructor will be assigned a recurring class and will be expected to maintain that schedule consistently throughout the academic year.
A Day in the Life
As a PlayMotion Kids Music Makers instructor, you will:
- Travel to the assigned preschool or childcare location in Dickinson
- Arrive prepared and on time for each class
- Set up and organize instruments and other teaching materials
- Lead an engaging, developmentally appropriate 30-minute music class for preschool-age children
- Use songs, rhythm, movement, instruments, stories, games, and imaginative activities
- Introduce foundational musical concepts such as beat, tempo, volume, patterns, and sound
- Encourage creativity, participation, confidence, and self-expression
- Adapt activities to the developmental needs of the children in each group
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging class environment
- Use effective early childhood classroom-management strategies
- Follow the provided PlayMotion Kids curriculum and class format
- Build positive relationships with children, teachers, and school directors
- Care for and keep track of company instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Represent PlayMotion Kids professionally at the partner location
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Early childhood experience
- Experience working directly with toddlers or preschool-age children
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Ability to travel reliably to Dickinson, Texas 77539
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
- Consistent weekday daytime availability
- Availability to commit to a recurring weekly class from September through May
- Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual
- Comfortable singing, moving, demonstrating activities, and leading groups of young children
- Able to get up and down from the floor and remain physically active throughout classes
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with early childhood experience who also have a background in one or more of the following areas:
- Music education
- Singing, instruments, rhythm, or music performance
- Preschool or childcare enrichment programs
- Dance or creative movement
- Children’s yoga
- Fitness or physical education
- Gymnastics, sports, or children’s recreation
Formal music training or certifications are welcome but not required. Strong early childhood experience, dependability, enthusiasm, and the ability to connect with young children are most important.
