Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; report changes promptly
- Support clients with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and household organization
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility
- Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging clients in social activities or recreational pursuits
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is advantageous
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration protocols, and vital signs monitoring is essential
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; experience in long-term care environments is beneficial
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy at all times
