POSITION PURPOSE: This position provides oversight of the shelter program by coordination and management of operations at the shelter and for community collaboration. This position assists the Program Director in program and staff development, fiscal management, and in staffing of the shelter.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is subject to Board policies, administrative rules and procedures, department regulations and applicable State and Federal statutes. This position carries administrative authority or responsibility for shelter advocates.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinator Duties:
- Manages day-to-day shelter program operations. This includes coordinating maintenance and cleaning of shelter spaces, ordering all supplies, creating advocate schedules to ensure shelter coverage.
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring shelter advocate staff members / interns, facilitates training of new staff members, provides staff supervision, and with the support of the Program Director completes disciplinary actions and writes yearly performance evaluations.
- Supervise and provide support/guidance to shelter advocates/ interns and conduct a weekly staff meeting to increase service continuity.
- Provide support to other Safe Passage programs as needed to include hospital response during shifts.
- Implement stated policies to meet health, safety and therapeutic standards in the shelter program. And ensure shelter is grant compliant.
- Maintain licensing standards of health and safety for physical facility (shelter).
- Provide oversight and review daily expenditures and purchasing for shelter.
- Provide monthly reports to Program Director on client data of the shelter and determine progress towards stated goals.
- Assist Program Director to monitor and procure resources such as grants and other funding to sustain the shelter.
Direct Services:
- Provide client-centered, trauma informed services. Advocates on a weekly basis will provide case management to clients (or more often) as assessed by client’s needs and availability.
- Greet new clients, complete intake forms (as well as data entry); give house tour within the first 3 hours of a new client entering the shelter.
- Document activities of clients in daily log according to Safe Passage Policies and Procedures.
- Provide information and referrals about legal, housing, and community resources. Including other Safe Passage service.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed including resources, referrals and support to clients.
- Document all client services/support/interactions, trainings, meetings in agencies database accordingly
Partnerships:
- Serves as a link between Safe Passage and other relevant community partners. Provides members of such communities with domestic violence/ sexual assault education when necessary.
- Evaluate partnerships looking for opportunities to expand Safe Passage services in the community.
General:
- Attend training and maintain training hours as set forth by grants
- Adhere to agency policies and work rules including a strict adherence to confidentiality
- Help with community events that Safe Passage is asked to participate in
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily within the shelter, indoors within an office, with infrequent responses outdoors for urgent care or monitoring for environmental safety risks or conducting wellness activities. Involves sitting, walking and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. Requires the use of computers, office equipment and driving personal vehicle. Visitation to offices of health care or social service providers as well as attendance at evening and weekend activities may be necessary. May work with high stress family, or personnel situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Education, Human Service, or related field; OR five years experience in related field.
- Experience supervising personnel preferred.
- One year of experience working with under-represented populations preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Service or related field preferred,
- · Required Current Criminal History Background check clearance
- · Required Completion of 32 hours of Crisis Intervention training.
- · Required Certification in Child and Adult CPR and First Aid.
PRIMARY LOCATION Safe Passage Offices: 850 N. 4th, Coeur d Alene, ID 83814.
SHIFT TYPE: Salary based on 40-hour work week. Flexibility required to accommodate staff changes. This includes weekends, overnight and holidays. Person will need to manage their own schedule.
