Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Head Teacher with an OEC head teacher certification and, or CDA to lead our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will oversee classroom operations, develop engaging curricula, and foster a nurturing environment that promotes the holistic development of young children. Duties
- Lead classroom activities, ensuring they align with curriculum development standards and promote child development instruction
- Supervise and mentor teaching staff, supporting their professional growth in preschool teaching, classroom management, and behavior management strategies
- Design and implement lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education, and early intervention techniques
- Foster strong communication with parents through regular updates on child progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to maintain a safe learning environment
- Coordinate classroom activities for toddlers and preschool-aged children, including childcare routines and toddler care practices
- Manage classroom resources efficiently and maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning space
Experience
- Proven teaching experience with young children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating expertise in childhood development and early childhood education principles
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies tailored to young learners’ needs
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws, child welfare policies, and first aid/CPR certification is essential
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community partners
- Prior experience teaching physical education or integrating movement activities into daily routines is a plus
Pay: $38,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
