We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing practice and help us maintain our high standard of oral health care.
Position Overview The ideal candidate is a proactive clinical professional who excels in preventative dental care, patient education, and clinical charting. You will work closely with our dentists and dental assistants to ensure a seamless, comfortable, and highly efficient patient experience from the moment they sit in the chair to their follow-up scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive periodontal screenings, oral cancer examinations, and general health assessments.
- Execute preventative dental care, including thorough prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and the application of fluoride and sealants.
- Take, develop, and accurately interpret dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Educate patients on optimal oral hygiene strategies, post-operative care, and the critical link between oral health and systemic wellness.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient records and clinical notes within our practice management software.
- Prepare treatment rooms according to strict OSHA and CDC infection control protocols, ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use.
- Collaborate with the administrative and clinical teams to optimize the daily schedule and ensure smooth patient flow.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of practice.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Administering Local Anesthesia certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with digital X-rays and modern dental practice management software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with patients of all ages.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.
