Duties
- Conduct psychological testing and diagnostic evaluations to assess cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on child & family counseling, behavior management, social skills development, and crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create effective behavioral health strategies and safety plans that support student success.
- Offer crisis management services during emergencies or behavioral incidents, ensuring student safety and well-being.
- Assist in early intervention programs by conducting intake assessments and coordinating case management efforts for students with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and detailed reports in compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in educational or clinical settings, ideally within a school environment.
- Strong background in special education, including working with individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities.
- Expertise in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluation, and applying behavioral health interventions like applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Familiarity with IEP development, case management, conflict management, and social work principles related to school psychology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care and experience documenting medical records accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support student success through psychotherapy, social work practices, and behavioral health strategies.
