Piano Teacher needed on Sundays (9:00am-3:00pm availability)
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Piano Teacher to join our Sunday teaching team, with an option to teach additional days! In this role, you will inspire students of all ages and skill levels to develop their piano playing abilities through engaging lessons and creative instruction. Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging one-on-one piano lessons tailored to students’ individual skill levels, from beginners to advanced players
- Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate technical skills, music theory, and performance techniques
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a respectful and motivating atmosphere for all students
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including working with children, adults, and students with special educational needs
- Prepare students for recitals and performance grade assessments, such as NYSSMA and ABRSM, by guiding practice routines and offering constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson plans to track development over time
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to ensure a supportive learning experience
Experience
- Past experience in teaching piano or other music classes is helpful
- Degree in music or current enrollment in conservatory/school of music university preferred
- Experience working with children, early childhood education, or preschool environments is desirable
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment
- Ability to engage students through creative methods and adapt lessons based on individual needs and interests
