Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medicare Home Health Director of Nursing to lead our home health team. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of exceptional patient care. As a leader in the home health sector, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, manage nursing teams, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice within a Medicare-certified environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the home health nursing team, including nurse managers, staff nurses, and clinical support staff, ensuring optimal staffing levels for home visits
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans that meet Medicare regulations and promote patient-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to Medicare home health services, including long-term care regulations and HIPAA privacy standards.
- Manage documentation review processes to ensure accuracy in medical records, medical terminology usage, and regulatory reporting requirements such as MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Utilize Kinnser Software / EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems effectively for documentation, scheduling, billing, and compliance tracking.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation to ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
- Provide administrative clinical supervision by guiding staff development and training initiatives, supervising nursing practices, and fostering leadership within the team.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy to support accurate assessments and effective treatment planning for diverse patient populations.
- Promote a culture of regulatory compliance by staying current with Medicare guidelines, long-term care regulations, and best practices in nursing leadership.
Experience
- Proven nursing leadership experience within a Medicare-certified home health agency or similar setting with demonstrated success in managing clinical teams.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Medicare Home Agency
- Strong knowledge of Medicare documentation review protocols, medical terminology, and physiology fundamentals essential for accurate patient assessments.
- Hands-on experience with Kinnser used for home health documentation, patient records management, and compliance tracking.
- Familiarity with Medicare regulations related to home health services including billing procedures, clinical docuemntation requirements and regulatory audits.
- Excellent understanding of medical records management while ensuring adherence to HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
- Ability to supervise field staff while maintaining high standards of patient care across multiple locations or service areas.
