Overview
Lew's Auto Service & Salvage is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Automotive Mechanic/Dismantler to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, using their mechanical skills, and staying productive in a fast-paced environment.
As an Automotive Dismantler, you'll be responsible for safely removing quality OEM parts from vehicles for resale, helping repair shops, dealerships, body shops, and retail customers get the parts they need. Every vehicle presents a new challenge, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys problem-solving and working with their hands.

Responsibilities
- Safely dismantle vehicles while following company procedures and safety standards.
- Remove engines, transmissions, body panels, suspension components, interior parts, and other assemblies without unnecessary damage.
- Properly identify, inspect, tag, and stage parts for inventory.
- Follow dismantling priorities and work orders provided by management and the sales team.
- Drain fluids and remove batteries, catalytic converters, and other regulated materials according to environmental guidelines.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed to move vehicles and materials safely.
- Complete one vehicle before beginning the next to maintain organization and efficiency.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Communicate with the sales and inventory teams regarding damaged, missing, or high-demand parts.
- Follow all company safety policies and properly wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Previous automotive repair, mechanic, dismantling, or salvage yard experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive systems.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, air tools, and shop equipment.
- Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
