SUMMARY
Logistics Strategy and Analytics Manager will lead transportation strategy, analytics, and drive TMS system improvements. This role will use data to improve cost, service, carrier performance, and network efficiency while partnering cross-functionally across supply chain operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Transportation Strategy & Network Optimization
- Develop multi-year transportation strategy focused on cost, service, capacity, carrier performance, network design, technology enablement, compliance, and operational resilience.
- Develop strategic insights from TMS data, carrier data, shipment visibility data, freight audit information, and external market indicators to support budgeting, forecasting, sourcing, network decisions, and service improvement.
- Lead carrier, broker, and 3PL strategy, including scorecard-based performance reviews, sourcing recommendations, capacity planning, service expectations, corrective actions, and business reviews.
- Identify and lead initiatives that improve network optimization, mode conversion, route engineering, shipment consolidation, dedicated capacity, specialized transportation, vendor performance, automation, and cost-to-serve visibility.
- Transportation Analytics & Performance Management
- Create executive-ready dashboards and insights that help leaders make faster, more informed transportation and supply chain decisions.
- Use data analytics, business intelligence, and transportation modeling to identify opportunities in freight spend, lane performance, routing, mode selection, carrier utilization, tender acceptance, dwell time, service reliability, and exception management.
- Define KPI architecture, metric governance, executive scorecards, root-cause routines, and action plans tied to measurable transportation outcomes.
- Maintain reporting routines and analytics tools that turn transportation data into actionable insights for senior leadership and operating teams.
- TMS Ownership & Continuous Improvement
- Serve as the business owner and power user for the TMS, driving adoption, data quality, process discipline, configuration input, reporting utilization, and carrier collaboration.
- Lead continuous improvement across TMS planning, execution, tracking, settlement, and analytics workflows to improve transportation visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and work closely with Logistic support staff in the department. Support company initiatives while supervising in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees. Additional responsibilities involve planning, assigning, and directing work while appraising performance and developing talent.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic transportation initiatives with measurable impact on cost, service, capacity, process maturity, and operational performance.
- Advanced analytical capability, including experience with freight spend analysis, KPI design, scorecards, forecasting, modeling, root-cause analysis, data visualization, and executive storytelling.
- Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS) with preference for E2open or comparable enterprise TMS platforms used for planning, tendering, execution, tracking, settlement, reporting, and optimization.
- Experience translating large, complex operational data sets into practical recommendations, financial impact, and prioritized roadmaps.
- Strong business acumen preferred in a CPG environment with the ability to connect transportation decisions to distribution operations, working capital, customer service, procurement strategy, and financial outcomes.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with Power BI, data warehouses, TMS reporting tools, or similar analytics platforms.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or related field. 5 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, supply chain operations.

The salary for this position is determined by a combination of experience, skills, and education level. The compensation range is $110K-120k annually.
