Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily operations of the Security Department to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members
- Supervise, lead, coach, and develop Security Supervisors and Security Officers in a 24/7 operational environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and operational standards to protect casino assets and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee incident response, investigations, and report documentation involving guest concerns, disturbances, safety issues, and violations of company policies or laws
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily reports, logs, investigations, and required department documentation
- Monitor and manage alarm systems, key control programs, surveillance coordination, and security equipment
- Conduct and verify completion of exterior patrols, parking lot checks, and property inspections
- Manage staffing schedules, shift assignments, and labor coverage while minimizing overtime and maintaining operational efficiency
- Collaborate with leadership to prepare and administer departmental budgets, staffing plans, and operational initiatives
- Conduct recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for security personnel
- Support corrective action, accountability, and professional development efforts within the department
- Maintain communication with the Tribal Gaming Commission regarding bans, exclusions, licensing, and compliance matters
- Ensure enforcement of departmental appearance standards, policies, procedures, and professional conduct expectations
- Promote positive guest relations and reinforce exceptional guest service throughout security operations
- Recommend and coordinate emergency preparedness, safety, and response training for security and non-security departments
- Establish tracking measures, reporting tools, and performance metrics to communicate operational results to executive leadership
- Maintain a visible leadership presence while fostering a respectful, efficient, and team-oriented work environment
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, team members, vendors, regulators, and executive leadership
- Analyze situations quickly and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced, high-visibility casino environment
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of standard computer applications and reporting systems
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced casino environment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, schedules, weekends, holidays, and operational needs
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods and lift up to 30–40 pounds
- Professional appearance and leadership presence required
Education and Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or management experience in casino security, law enforcement, or a related field
- Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- Prior casino or gaming experience preferred
