Job Summary
Join our dynamic delivery team as an Independent Contractor Driver, utilizing your own SUV or mini van to provide reliable, efficient delivery services. As a key part of our logistics network, you will be responsible for safely transporting packages, managing deliveries, and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and professional service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate your personal vehicle, such as an SUV or mini van, to complete scheduled deliveries across designated routes
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks when necessary
- Follow all traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and company safety policies during route driving
- Accurately scan and track deliveries using mobile devices, ensuring proper documentation for each shipment
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with recipients and addressing any delivery concerns professionally
- Adhere to safe lifting practices when handling packages of varying weights, including heavy items requiring manual handling skills
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine checks to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards
Experience
- Prior experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to handle manual handling tasks, including lifting heavy packages safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with commercial driving, including box trucks or similar vehicles, is a plus but not mandatory
- Knowledge of route planning and driving in urban or suburban environments to optimize delivery efficiency
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is advantageous
- Strong understanding of traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and weight handling in the workplace
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on professionalism and reliability
