AFTERSCHOOL YOUTH WORKER/LEAPS AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

Assist in the operations of afterschool program
- Assist in management of the afterschool program, as well as proper functioning of all activities
- Perform regular student recruitment and outreach
- Facilitate groups and activities for students (i.e.- computer lab, Academic Support, snack, etc.) as needed
- Plan/submit weekly lesson plans which support engaging activities
- Monitor the needs of the program while working closely with the Site Director and Sr. Program Director
- Chaperone students during field trips
- Maintain accurate and up to date records and logs and input into online database
- Provide effective behavior management of students in accordance with program policies
- Monitor clients progress w/in home, school and program environment
- Communicate regularly with program participants, parents, and school staff through phone contacts, meetings and written correspondence
Comply with all record-keeping & documentation requirements
- Maintain daily attendance and enrollment for all participants (logs/ DYCD online)
- Maintain all required program logs (fire drill, incident, recruitment etc.) and submit injury reports within specified timeframes
- Ensure compliance with all required documents & deadlines (lesson plans, logs, injury logs)
Participate as a member of the CMS team
- Adherence to CMS policies and procedures
- Model professionalism and the founding principles of CMS
- Enhance community awareness of the program by participating in networking and community based activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential referral sources
- Share knowledge of existing resources and contribute new ideas
- Participate in unit initiatives and agency-wide committees
- Partner with other CMS programs (i.e.- workshops)
- Meet with the Coordinator monthly for supervision
Qualifications & position requirements
- Minimum H.S. Diploma required (BA or BA student preferred)
- 1-2 years of prior experience in the youth development field
- Must be able to work effectively with a team
- Commitment to the empowerment of students
- Focus on providing fun, engaging, instructional activities for students
- Participate in ongoing trainings as required for SACC license and professional development needs
- Bilingual needed (Spanish, Hindi, Creole)
- Must be willing to travel
- Work in-person (Flexible with remote learning)
Work Remotely
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
