Civil Process Server Trainee, Private Investigator Trainee

Job Title: County Court Service (Civil Process), Private Investigator Trainee
Location(s): Washington, Greene, Sullivan, or Hamblen Counties.

Purpose of the position:
The primary purpose of this position is to be trained to serve ordered summons, subpoenas, ordered garnishments, and other civil process, as issued from the local courts. There is also availavility to be trained to become a civil or criminal defense private investigator.
Duties Will Consist Of:
Visiting residences of the general public.
Locating ordered defendants.
Performing due diligence in the location of defendants.
Being issued court orders by the local courts.
Returning returns of service to the courts.
Being Trained in surveillance, interviews, scene investigations, applicable law, etc.
Part Time Position
Work Schedule:
Approximately 4:30PM-8:30PM 02 days per week, and/or 7:00AM- 3:00 PM 01 day per week, with some employee discretion.
Saturdays if desired.
Pay: Up to $40 hourly
Minimum Requirements:
· Applicants must possess a dependable vehicle.
· Applicants should have no record of Felony convictions, or crimes of moral turpitude, as determined by a thorough background investigation.
· Applicants must be of sound judgement and outstanding moral integrity.
· Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
· Applicants must be able to learn, understand, and apply all applicable laws.
· Applicants must have the ability to meet handgun carry requirements.
· Must possess a smartphone capable of email, GPS, and applicable apps.
- Must posess a computer to be trained in investigations.
Personal Requirements:
· Must be trainable and willing to learn.
-Must be of dependable work ethic and able to work independently.
· Must be able to deescalate a variety of situations.
· Must be able to maintain an empathetic and nonconfrontational, but firm demeanor.
· Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
· Must be able to perform professionally and make sound decisions in an uncontrolled field environment.
· Must have no aversions to or fears of: dogs, the dark, or anything which may be encountered during the course of duties.
· Ability to problem solve and make sound field decisions.
· Ability to write clear and concise reports.
· Prior knowledge of applicable state laws and public rights a plus.
· Currently sworn law enforcement is a plus.
· Aggressive or confrontational persons need not apply.
