Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Dental Patient Coordinator to join our vibrant dental practice. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with enthusiasm, including answering phones and scheduling appointments using Softdent.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process collections, and handle health insurance inquiries with thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.
- Review and update patient medical records accurately, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies and documentation review procedures.
- Assist with billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and care plan documentation to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes for insurance providers.
- Coordinate patient flow efficiently by managing appointment calendars, confirming upcoming visits, and rescheduling as needed using dental clinic experience and office management skills.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions about health insurance benefits, treatment plans, or billing concerns with professionalism and clarity.
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure all electronic health records (EHR) are accurately updated in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts, managing medical records requests, and assisting with administrative tasks such as typing reports or data entry using Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental office setting .
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical coding (CPT), billing processes, and health insurance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with phone etiquette expertise; bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review, filing, and managing electronic health records.
- Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA is essential.
- Prior clinic experience involving medical administrative support or front desk responsibilities is preferred.
- Competent computer skills including typing (10 key), Microsoft Office applications, and proficiency in EMR/EHR management software.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a friendly demeanor that enhances patient satisfaction.
