Position Overview:
BEPC is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic II to support manufacturing operations for a leading medical device company in Plymouth, MN. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate has experience working in an industrial manufacturing or automation environment and possesses strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills. This role requires attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize equipment downtime.
- Install, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform safety checks.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment history.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, electrical diagrams, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Support equipment inventory management by tracking replacement parts and maintenance components.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to identify equipment improvements and resolve technical issues.
- Utilize systems such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Windchill, and Infor EAM (CMMS) to support maintenance activities.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance or automation experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment.
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices, terminology, tools, and repair procedures.
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal work instructions.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience using maintenance software or CMMS systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing or medical device environment.
- Familiarity with SAP, Windchill, or Infor EAM (CMMS).
- Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
