Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Flooring Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs, materials, and labor required for flooring installation projects. This role involves working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project estimates are precise and competitive, helping the company secure new business and maintain profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Detailed Estimates: Calculate material quantities, labor costs, and any additional costs (e.g., removal of existing flooring, preparation work) for flooring installation, sanding, finishing, and repairs.
- Review Project Specifications: Analyze plans, blueprints, or customer specifications to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to provide estimates for prospective clients and assist in preparing bids for larger commercial projects.
- Supplier and Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing on materials and ensure that estimates reflect current market conditions.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate directly with clients to clarify project details, provide estimates, and discuss any adjustments to scope or pricing.
- Maintain Cost Databases: Update and maintain an internal database of material and labor costs to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate.
- Monitor Industry Trends: Stay informed about changes in material costs, labor rates, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in the flooring, construction, or related industry.
- Knowledge of Flooring Materials: Understanding of hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet, and vinyl flooring products and installation methods.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and floor plans.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills to create accurate and detailed estimates.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle changes in project scope, cost, or materials and adjust estimates accordingly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
