REQUIREMENTS : Appointees will be required to possess a valid New Jerseys driver’s license. Be able to lift 50lbs. Ability to in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain and dusty environments. Be able to work nights and weekends when necessary. Be able to work overtime when required. Ability to communicate with supervisors, coworkers, contractors and public in courteous professional manner always. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety and policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES : May learn to operate and make minor repairs to street, road,
and related public works equipment Loads, lifts, moves supplies, and equipment. Digs trenches and does manual grading. Cleans incinerators, collects rubbish and other refuse, cuts grass, and trims hedges. Loads and unloads trucks, whitewashes walls, shovels gravel and sand, mixes cement and mortar. Places forms used in concrete work, performs cold patching. Clean up underbrush, foliage, vines, and weeds. Learns to operate construction and/or maintenance equipment. Lift, carry, and clean tools and equipment. Must be willing to work nights and/or weekends when needed. Assisting others with varying aspects of the demolition if needed. Dig, spread, and level construction materials as directed. General laborer duties are associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews. Place, move, and dismantle signs, barricades, or cones.
