Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to ensure optimal operation.
- Repair and troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, electrical work knowledge, and tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and mechanical repairs to maintain the integrity of the facility’s structure and aesthetics.
- Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC units, light plumbing systems, light electrical, and other mechanical devices with precision.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to diagnose issues, perform repairs, or install new components following safety protocols.
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects requiring leadership skills or supervising experience; coordinate with vendors or contractors as needed.
- Accurately diagnose problems and implement effective solutions in building interior maintenance and facilities operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards by adhering to procedures related to electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC system repair, and general maintenance activities.
- Support customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and providing clear communication throughout the process.
Skills
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment repair, carpentry, painting, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with manuals, hand tools, electrical work tools, and maintenance painting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in maintenance repair operations (MRO) to efficiently address diverse facility issues.
- Experience with HVAC system repair including diagnosing issues within complex heating/cooling units; familiarity with HVAC systems is essential.
- Competence in light plumbing system maintenance and repair.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a maintenance environment; capable of guiding team members or contractors effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation of work orders, reports, and team coordination.
- Knowledge of building interior maintenance practices including painting (residential or commercial), drywall repair, flooring upkeep, and general upkeep tasks.
