Responsibilities
- Review pharmacy records and accurately assign appropriate billing codes, including ICD-10 codes.
- Ensure precise billing by interpreting medical records, clinical notes, and pharmacy documentation.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of records related to pharmacy billing.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and facilitate medical collections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, Rx sig , and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance.
- Support the organization’s revenue cycle by processing claims promptly and following up on unpaid or denied claims.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in billing roles is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Can obtain or has a NJ state Pharmacy Technician licience
- Knowledge of insurance claim procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex clinical information accurately.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
- Ability to stay current with evolving medical billing regulations.
