Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic RN Med Surg Charge Nurse to lead our medical-surgical nursing team during day and night shifts. This pivotal role involves overseeing patient care delivery, coordinating clinical operations, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing experience, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates quality of patient care and outcomes based on administered treatments.
- Directs and coordinates nursing personnel activities on designated shifts, overseeing staff and patient care.
- Assures real-time documentation, including review of task lists and prompt initiation and sign-off of physician’s orders.
- Advises nurses on the appropriateness of calling physicians. Assists staff in using electronic quality management tools to evaluate treatment plans and ensure quality outcomes.
- Uses chart audit reports to monitor adherence to documentation guidelines and assists staff in achieving documentation goals.
- Provides support and information to the interdisciplinary team when problems arise with families, physicians, or other caregivers.
- Serves as a role model by collaborating with staff and physicians.
- Coordinates orientation of newly assigned staff with preceptors and facilitates clinical experiences.
- Participates in the development and review of departmental policies and procedures, recommending revisions.
- Acts on behalf of the Nurse Manager when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- 1+ year acute care experience [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support -CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
Preferred:
- 2+ years acute care experience [Preferred]
- Previous Charge RN/Leadership experience [Preferred]
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
Pay: $32.76 - $57.47 per hour
