Calibration & Repair Service Technician (On-Site Contract)
We are seeking a Calibration & Repair Service Technician to support a high-technology service center that provides calibration, repair, and technical support for advanced electronic test and measurement equipment. This on-site contract position plays a vital role in supporting both internal operations and external customers by delivering high-quality technical service, troubleshooting, and repair solutions.
The successful candidate will perform calibration, adjustment, testing, and repair activities while maintaining high standards of quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical aptitude, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, adjustment, testing, and repair of electronic test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment following established procedures.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and resolve technical problems of limited to moderate complexity.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or engineering support when necessary.
- Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Support calibration and repair activities for customer equipment while ensuring compliance with service standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, field service personnel, and support teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Contribute to service center goals related to quality, productivity, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
- Follow established production, calibration, and repair processes while meeting defined performance and quality objectives.
- Maintain high workmanship standards and deliver work in accordance with service commitments.
- Ensure compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls, connector care requirements, service procedures, and quality programs to minimize rework and repeat repairs.
- Demonstrate effective time management, organization, and responsible use of tools and equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant technical education, specialized training, certification, or equivalent military technical experience.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in the calibration and repair of electronic test and measurement equipment preferred.
- Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing hardware and software diagnostics and repair.
- Knowledge of calibration processes, quality standards, and service center operations.
- Understanding of ESD procedures and safe handling of sensitive electronic equipment.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, business ethics, quality, and customer service.
