Job Summary: We are a fast-growing organization that distributes food service and janitorial supplies, and are seeking a skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Lead to oversee the daily operations of our warehouse facilities – with mastery over the 360-degree inventory experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, interfacility merchandise transfers, inventory replenishment, and equipment maintenance. Objectives:
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction as the primary goal by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees, and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational and efficiency goals.
- System Development: Develop/optimize warehouse operation processes by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, and shipping methods.
- Team Management: Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long-term performance goals.
- Inventory and Logistics Control: Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing accurate inventory and optimized logistics.
- Workflow and Standards: Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements,that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, and shipping.
- Schedule and oversee the warehouse team, both full-time and temporary employees, managing the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime, including following company SOPs.
- Regularly inspect equipment, tools, and machinery, and oversee general maintenance as necessary.
- Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages.
- Maintaining inventory levels, including inventory transfers between facilities, avoiding stock-outs and overstock of merchandise, while ensuring facility cleanliness throughout.
- Periodic travel required between Ft. Lauderdale & Orlando facilities on an as-needed basis.
- Loading and unloading of vehicles, which may require lifting up to 60lbs and using necessary equipment, including pallet jack & forklifts
- Inspect and maintain delivery vehicle at the beginning and end of route
- Communicate with dispatch and logistics team to ensure on-time delivery of goods
- Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations
- Ability to use GPS and other navigation tools
- Communicate with customers to provide exceptional service
- Maintain accurate delivery records and log books
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, such as using a harness
- Ensure equipment is operational & fully-charged at all times, refilling fuel/propane and oil, as needed, and returning equipment to designated location at end of shift
- Inspect and adjust tools and equipment for safety and efficiency, and perform preventive maintenance, as needed, reporting equipment-related issues/failures to upper management immediately
- Operate electric, gasoline, and pneumatic driven power tools including drills, testers, and various other tools
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat
- Open/close warehouse, as needed
Equipment Used:
- Forklift, manual, electric, and ride-on pallet jacks, order picker, and sprinter van; power tools including drills, testers, and various other tools
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and databases.
- Knowledge of effective supervisory technique.
- Expertise with complex logistics and interfacility merchandise transfers.
- Working knowledge of warehouse/mechanical equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness to work in a small team environment
- Skill in the use, operation, & care of power and simple hand tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and highways
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in advanced excel, including pivot tables & macros (plus).
- Bilingual in Spanish (plus).
- CDL Class-A/B license (plus)
Experience:
- Delivery/Truck Driver: 3 years (Required)
- Driving License: 5 years (Required)
- Supervisory Experience: 2-3 years
Salary dependent on experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
