PMG Vegetation is hiring a Lead Vegetation Management Technician to oversee a crew in noxious weed control operations. This seasonal position runs from April 18 to late Fall (Potential long-term work available) and is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills, hands-on field experience, and the ability to manage crews effectively.
The right candidate will have 3-5 years of management experience (required), prior experience in vegetation management or a similar industry, and the ability to pull a trailer. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to motivate a team, and a results-driven mindset. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, ensuring that client vegetation requirements are met efficiently. Monitor crew performance, morale, and work quality, addressing issues as needed.

Operate and maintain a backpack spray system to apply herbicide to designated areas.

Ensure proper herbicide mixing and loading to meet treatment requirements.

Identify and target specific noxious weeds while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Navigate various terrains, including flat land, steep slopes, and rocky landscapes.

Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times and report any concerns to the General Manager.

Communicate with clients professionally and ensure work is completed to their standards.

Pull and maneuver trailers safely to transport equipment and supplies.

Collect and submit accurate data records on vegetation treatment progress.

3-5 years of management experience (required)

Prior experience in a similar field or industry (vegetation management, agriculture, ranching, landscaping, or related work)

3-5 years of trailer-pulling experience (required)

Valid driver's license

Physically able to carry a backpack sprayer and lift 50 lbs regularly

Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain types

Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and kneel as needed to complete tasks
