Summary
The House Coach works closely with the Redeemed Team to meet the needs of Safe House residents. She plays a key role as a stable, compassionate, and consistent presence in the home while helping create an environment marked by safety, structure, patience, and joy. This position requires strong time management, self-discipline, conflict resolution, trauma awareness, and the ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotionally complex situations.

4pm-4am Evening Shift
This position follows a 12-hour awake-staff shift structure, with two staff members scheduled per shift. House Coaches work a 7 days-on, 7 days-off rotation. This structure is designed to support consistent care for residents while also creating a healthier rhythm of work and rest for staff.
- Staff are expected to remain awake, alert, and available throughout the full shift
- Breaks will be provided during the shift in accordance with scheduling needs and program coverage
- 80 hours of PTO available according to employee handbook guidelines
- Paid holidays when scheduled to work on a holiday shift
- A task schedule will be provided, with room for flexible adjustments based on resident needs, program needs, and daily realities of the home
Key Functions and ResponsibilitiesHouse Management
- Operate within an approved budget
- Keep the home clean, organized, and ready for residents, staff, visitors, and potential property tours
- Support a peaceful, welcoming, and trauma-sensitive home environment
- Assist with upkeep of shared living spaces, resident spaces, staff areas, vehicles, and outdoor areas as assigned
- Follow the daily task schedule while remaining flexible to adjust for urgent needs, resident care, appointments, or safety concerns
Guidance of Residents
- Be a positive, Christ-focused example to residents, comfortable answering questions and offering prayer when appropriate
- Listen to residents with compassion while providing trauma-informed care, direction, and accountability
- Assist residents in navigating personal challenges, interpersonal conflict, emotional distress, and daily responsibilities
- Support residents in following the Resident Handbook and program expectations
- Cook meals with residents and other Residential staff as assigned
- Clean the Safe House property and vehicles alongside residents
- Transport residents to and from scheduled events, errands, appointments, classes, and other approved activities
- Help maintain timely movement through the daily schedule, including wake-up routines, transportation, chores, meals, appointments, and program participation
- Communicate resident concerns, behavioral patterns, safety issues, and program needs to the appropriate supervisor
Personal and Professional Development
- Participate in staff trainings and meetings, occasionally including travel
- Participate in monthly counseling sessions, with $75 covered by Redeemed
- Learn and apply trauma-informed practices, including TBRI principles
- Continue growing in personal resilience, emotional regulation, teamwork, and professional boundaries
- Model a Biblical Christian lifestyle in conduct, speech, relationships, and decision-making
Qualifications
- Female, due to the sensitive nature of the residential program and direct care provided to adult female survivors
- Deeply rooted, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Alignment with Redeemed Ministries’ Statement of Faith
- Commitment to living a Biblical Christian lifestyle
- Experience working with sex trafficking survivors is preferred
- Experience working in a similar residential, crisis care, ministry, or direct care position is preferred
- Trauma aware and willing to continue learning trauma-informed care practices
- Resilient, compassionate, emotionally mature, and able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong time management and follow-through
- Able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents
- Able to drive Redeemed vehicles in the Houston Metro area, day or night
- Clean driving record
- No smoking or drinking while on duty
- Active CPR and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications, or willingness to obtain certifications provided by Redeemed
- Proficient with Google Apps and moderate computer skills
- Able to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people
- Able to walk, see, hear, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to adhere to the dress code manual, including modest and appropriate clothing, accessories, hair, and nails
