Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Polysomnographic Technician (Polysomnographer) for a 13-week contract assignment in Bossier City, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have recent sleep lab experience, previous travel experience, and strong technical skills in conducting and monitoring sleep studies.
This position requires a confident, independent professional who is comfortable caring for pediatric through geriatric patients and managing overnight polysomnography procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and monitor overnight polysomnographic sleep studies.
- Apply and monitor EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory, oxygen saturation, and other sleep-study sensors.
- Monitor patients throughout the night and recognize changes in sleep and respiratory patterns.
- Perform CPAP/BiPAP titration and PAP mask fitting.
- Troubleshoot equipment, electrodes, probes, and monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
- Provide safe, professional care to pediatric through geriatric patients.
- Work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining patient safety and study quality.
- Follow facility protocols, infection-control standards, and sleep-lab procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Polysomnographic Technician experience
- Previous travel experience required
- RPSGT or RRT-SDS certification required
- Louisiana state license required
- BLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience with Meditech Expanse
- Experience with pediatric through geriatric patients
- Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and PAP mask fitting
- Strong knowledge of sleep studies and physiological monitoring
- Strong troubleshooting and technical skills
- Ability to work independently on overnight shifts
Schedule & Assignment Details
- 12-hour Night Shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 36 hours guaranteed per week
- May alternate between 36 and 48 hours
