MedStar Health is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital!

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will plan, organize, and conduct individualized treatment plans to help patients with speech disorders restore and/or improve communication function. Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress. Requires Speech Therapy licensure.

Primary Duties:

Evaluates and plans therapy programs for each patient assigned as prescribed by physician. Directs and aids the patients in therapeutic techniques appropriate to patient needs.

Provides accurate billing information on the same day as services.

Employs principles of therapeutic communication, interviewing techniques, problem-solving, and crisis intervention when performing patient care. Handles stressful situations with tact and poise.

Records and reports patient progress in consultation with the referring physician as per department policy.

Educates patients and family regarding speech therapy plan of care and appropriate home exercise program and documents education in patient record.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech Therapy.

SP-L - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Maryland.

This position has a hiring range of : USD $60.00 - USD $60.00 /Yr.
