Overview
Preschool Teachers are responsible for supporting safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environments for young children while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to create a positive learning atmosphere where children can explore, learn, and grow while fostering their curiosity and love for learning.
Minimum Qualifications
ECE Units (Required – California Title 22)
* Minimum 12 semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development, including core courses:
* Child Growth and Development
* Child, Family, and Community
* Program/Curriculum
Experience
* Minimum 6 months–1 year experience working in a licensed preschool setting (preferred)
Certifications
* Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification
* Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1207 compliant)
Health & Clearance Requirements
* Criminal background clearance (Live Scan)
* TB clearance
* Immunization compliance (MMR, Tdap, Influenza as required)
Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including learning technology, behavioral therapy techniques, music therapy, and applied behavior analysis to enhance student engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavioral management strategies to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assess student progress regularly using standardized testing, formative assessments, and ongoing observations; adapt instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, therapists, and specialists to design personalized educational plans that address each student's unique needs.
- Provide support for early childhood education programs, preschool experiences, toddler care, and Montessori or preschool curricula as applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, IEP goals, lesson plans, and behavioral interventions while ensuring compliance with educational policies.
Skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Expertise in speech therapy techniques, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities such as autism, developmental delays, hearing or visual impairments.
- Knowledge of instructional design principles for special education settings and early intervention programs.
- Ability to utilize learning technology tools for virtual or hybrid instruction; proficiency in proofreading and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices including behavioral therapy and behavior management strategies.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring students, providing academic advising, tutoring, and supporting child welfare initiatives.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
