American Traveler is hiring a Step Down/PCU RN with CA licensure and at least 1 year of Medical/Surgical Stepdown experience for a rotating day/night shift assignment.

Work in an 8-bed Med/Surg Telemetry (MST) overflow Step Down/PCU unit
-
Provides cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
-
Shift options include Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) on a rotating basis

Rotating weekend coverage required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Active CA RN license required
-
BLS certification (AHA) required
-
Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical Stepdown experience required

Nursys report uploaded within the last 2 weeks reflecting valid CA license required
-
2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
-
Deliver patient- and family-centered nursing care addressing both potential and actual health issues

Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response as part of daily unit responsibilities

Local candidates accepted at the local rate

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for the travel rate

Returning employees/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract

Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

Holiday periods run from 7:00 PM the night before through 7:00 AM the day after the holiday

Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

7-year work history verification required for all candidates
