Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard & Asset Delivery Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving environments and be comfortable operating different types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, medium duty trucks, buckets, diggers and pulling trailers. You will be responsible for transporting assets safely and efficiently to designated locations and moving assets in our yard and keeping the yard organized.
Duties
- Operate delivery vehicles, including tractor-trailers, pickups, medium duty trucks, buckets, diggers, and pulling trailers adhering to all safety regulations.
- Load and unload machinery, ensuring proper strapping of assets to meet DOT regulations.
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently while maintaining delivery schedules.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
- Utilize forklift equipment as needed for loading or unloading materials.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with the ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of route driving and logistics operations.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading material.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members.
