We’re seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef / Bakery Manager to lead our bakery and pastry program. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity, build a team, and create signature breads, pastries, desserts, and confections that become an essential part of the Embe Cafe experience.
The Opportunity
As Pastry Chef / Bakery Manager, you will oversee all bakery and pastry operations, ensuring every product reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, consistency, and excellence. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate, develop seasonal offerings, and help shape a bakery program that stands out in Miami Beach’s vibrant culinary scene.
What You’ll DoCulinary Leadership
● Lead the creation and production of artisan breads, pastries, desserts, cakes, and confectionery items
● Develop seasonal menus, signature offerings, and innovative new products
● Maintain exceptional standards for taste, texture, appearance, and consistency
● Ensure all products are prepared using premium ingredients and refined techniques
Bakery Operations
● Oversee daily production, including mixing, scaling, fermenting, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing
● Manage production schedules to ensure freshness, efficiency, and minimal waste
● Maintain quality control throughout all stages of production
Team Development
● Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire bakery team members
● Foster a culture of professionalism, creativity, accountability, and collaboration
● Lead by example while maintaining a positive and supportive work environment
Financial & Administrative Management
● Manage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and product receiving
● Monitor food costs, labor costs, and waste reduction initiatives
● Develop systems that improve efficiency while maintaining product excellence
Safety & Compliance
● Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and organization
● Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and company standards
What We’re Looking For
● Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, Head Baker, Bakery Manager, or similar leadership role
● Formal pastry or baking education preferred, or equivalent professional experience
● Expertise in artisan bread production, laminated doughs, pastries, cakes, and desserts
● Strong understanding of fermentation, dough development, baking science, and pastry techniques
● Creative eye for presentation, decoration, and product development
● Experience managing production teams in a high-volume bakery, restaurant, hotel, or café environment
● Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
● Fluent in English
