Title: Associate/Custodian
Reports to: Store Manager
Classification: Non-exempt
Position Description Summary:
The Associate Custodian is responsible for keeping our facilities well-maintained for our customers. This person should be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision, with the quality and customer service expected at Road Runner Convenience Stores.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Provide an enthusiastic greeting to all customers upon their entering the store, or on the phone.

Go out of your way to make customers feel important and valued. Give 100% attention to customers

Be knowledgeable of all store procedures and processes.

Responsible for general cleaning duties, i.e., tidying the premises, sweeping and mopping the floor, emptying the trash can, cleaning restrooms, cleaning outdoor spaces, including gas/diesel pump areas and performing other cleaning duties.

Sweep, dust, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors throughout the store.

Regularly check the trash receptacles, emptying as needed, and replacing liners in all areas of the site.

Clean windows and mirrored surfaces.

Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.

Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal

Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.

Restocking of products and merchandise

While overtime is discouraged, this position may occasionally require overtime, which must be approved in advance by your supervisor.
- Be at work and on time for scheduled shift.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different personnel from hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives

Ability to work a regular schedule (including weekends holidays) with ability to be flexible when circumstances require schedule adaptations.

Knowledge of proper cleaning processes and procedures
-
Use cleaning products as needed in a manner consistent with labels and environmental regulations

Complete cleaning logs, as directed.

Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices.

Report work accomplished orally or on written work order to supervisor daily.

The ability to multi-task, perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

Ability to perform tasks with little or no supervision
-
Ability to work inside and outside with variations in heat/cold/dust/humidity.

Ability when working outside to be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, sun, ice, and wind).
Basic Qualifications:

High School Education or GED equivalent
-
6 months janitorial, customer service, retail experience, and/or other related fields required

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Must be willing to work varied shifts
