The Annual Fund & Grants Manager plays a key role in advancing the school's mission by cultivating meaningful relationships with individual and foundation donors and growing philanthropic support through a strategic, year-round annual fund. Working collaboratively across the Advancement team, this role strengthens stewardship, ensures data integrity, and supports grant writing efforts that sustain the school's operations and long-term impact, all in service of Jesuit values and mission.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Annual Fund & Grants Manager is a 12-month, full time position that is primarily responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, and integrated effort to build a base of individual/foundational donors and increase the level of philanthropic support received though the annual fund. This Manager leads year-round cultivation, solicitations, and stewardship efforts which support the school’s annual operational fundraising goals. Additionally, the Manager will supervise the management of the database integrity and utilization, and execution of departmental grant writing/reporting activities. The Annual Fund Manager works closely with the Advancement Associate, the Marketing and Communications Supervisor, and the Events & Community Engagement Manager, and reports to the Senior Advancement Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Develop a working knowledge of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School’s Catholic, Jesuit mission in general, and funding priorities specifically, to articulate a compelling case for support to various constituents.
● Develop strategy and execute CRJ’s signature event. Effectively manage event logistics, vendor negotiations/contracting/relations, and budgets/expenses while developing concepts, themes, and formats that increase supporters, increase brand awareness, and grow revenue to meet yearly budgeted targets.
● Plan and execute external facing events that support the stewardship and retention of donors & volunteers.
● Recruit, manage, and engage volunteers to support CRJ in order to meet the Advancement department’s annually established goals.
● Manage recruitment and programming of student ambassador program.
● Responsible for calling prospective donors/sponsors to solicit support. Use a CRM database to maintain prospect lists, accurate contact information and outreach efforts.
● Successfully track event success, KPI, and strategic initiatives for the Board.
● Work with the Advancement team to prioritize and submit event proposals for funding requests and impact reporting.
● Serve as school liaison and enhance relationships in the community.
● Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission of the school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of event planning/execution, fundraising, or sales experience
● Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, detail orientation, analytical, and written /oral communication skills
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; familiarity with donor database systems DonorPerfect & BetterUnite is preferred
● Desire and ability to support the Catholic and Ignatian character of the school
● Passionately articulate commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit as a sponsored ministry of the Society of Jesus and a member of the Cristo Rey Network of schools.
● Flexibility in scheduling with occasional evenings and weekends necessary
●Proficiency in Spanish language is preferred
