Job Summary:
The Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for evaluating clients' hearing needs, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, providing follow-up care, and offering education on the use and maintenance of hearing devices. The specialist works closely with audiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients with hearing loss.
Key Responsibilities:
Ongoing Client Support:
- Offer regular follow-up appointments to monitor hearing aid performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to hearing aids or auditory devices.
- Educate clients and their families about hearing loss, hearing aids, and communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; specialized training or degree in Hearing Instrument Sciences or a related field.
- Certification: Certification as a Hearing Instrument Specialist (e.g., National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences) is often required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but entry-level candidates with relevant education may be considered.
