We are seeking professional, dependable, and safety-focused F-02 Security Officers to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment by conducting patrols, monitoring assigned areas, responding to incidents, and enforcing site policies and procedures. Assignments may include commercial buildings, residential properties, shelters, retail locations, or other facilities throughout New York City.
The ideal candidate possesses strong observation skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment for tenants, visitors, staff, and the public. Candidates must hold a valid New York State Security Guard License and a valid FDNY F-02 Fire Guard Certificate of Fitness. Employer communications regarding F-02 openings have specifically required both credentials.
Requirements
- Valid New York State Security Guard License
- Valid FDNY F-02 Fire Guard Certificate of Fitness
- Completion of New York State-required security guard training, including:
- 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course
- 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course
- Annual 8-Hour In-Service Training as required for license maintenance
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during emergencies
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or fire watch experience
- Experience working in shelters, commercial buildings, retail locations, or residential properties
- Knowledge of emergency evacuation and fire safety procedures
