The Opportunity
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep MHA properties safe, functional, and well-maintained. You'll perform repairs, preventative maintenance, inspections, and property upkeep that support quality affordable housing throughout Missoula.
What You'll Do
- Complete work orders, preventative maintenance, and special projects
- Repair plumbing, appliances, electrical fixtures, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, and other building systems
- Paint, perform minor concrete and masonry repairs, and maintain boilers and furnaces
- Prepare units for new residents, including turnovers and cleaning support
- Perform landscaping, lawn care, and snow removal
- Conduct property inspections and identify maintenance concerns
- Maintain tools, vehicles, equipment, inventory, and work order records
- Work with contractors and team members to complete projects
- Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation (approximately 4-5 times per year)
What You'll Bring
- Experience in residential, commercial, property, or general maintenance
- Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, appliance repair, and basic electrical systems
- Strong troubleshooting, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer service
- Comfort using smartphones, computers, and maintenance software
- Ability to perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Valid driver's license

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work at residential properties, maintenance facilities, and outdoor sites throughout Missoula
- Regularly use tools, equipment, vehicles, and machinery
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Interact regularly with residents, contractors, vendors, and coworkers
- Participate in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation

Benefits
Salary: $23-26/hr
· The listed salary range reflects a starting point for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall fit, with opportunities for growth over time.
Retirement: 7% employer contribution w/optional employee contribution
