Location: This is an on-site role and requires the candidate to work from College Board's Reston, Virginia office 5 days per week. All CB employees are required to occasionally travel to meet in person for business purposes.

WX is positioned as a strategic, culture-shaping function tied to talent attraction and retention, not traditional facilities management.
As the Assistant Director of Workplace Experience in Reston, you are the operational leader responsible for the full workplace experience at College Board’s Reston, Virginia office. You own day-to-day strategy and service delivery for a location with distinct operational needs — you lead and are supported by the Reston Coordinator, own vendor relationships and budget for your location, and ensure the Reston community feels as connected and well-served as any College Board office.
Reston Operations Leadership & Service Excellence (35%)
Serve as primary point of contact for property management, managing the building relationship including escalations, maintenance requests, and building communications.
Workplace Programming & Employee Engagement (25%)
Design and execute the Reston workplace programming strategy including holiday celebrations, cultural events, team luncheons, and welcome experiences for hybrid visitors.
Vendor Management & Budget Stewardship (15%)
Manage all Reston vendor relationships (snack and beverage, security, property management, janitorial, catering, office supplies, group lunch ordering) with documented SLAs and quarterly performance reviews.
Data Collection, Synthesis & Reporting (10%)
Collect and synthesize Reston workplace data (space utilization, visitor logs, meeting volume, service requests, event attendance) into monthly reports for Director.
Workplace Experience Team Leadership - Reston (15%)
Share context, guidance, and real-time feedback that build the Coordinator's autonomy in routine operations, escalating development or performance observations to the Director.
About You
2 to 4 years of experience in a hands-on, service-delivery or operations role, with backgrounds in hospitality, retail, food service, facilities coordination, or a similarly fast-paced, customer-facing environment strongly encouraged.
Experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, such as shift lead, team lead, or similar, with demonstrated ability to direct others, coordinate a team, and take ownership of outcomes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders and executive stakeholders clearly and professionally, advocate for operational needs, and work through competing priorities with good judgment.
Familiarity with facilities-related basics such as vendor coordination, property management interactions, and certificates of insurance, with the confidence to handle that side of the work independently.
Comfort with workplace tools and technology including Slack, workplace booking systems, AV platforms, and other office operations tools.
Experience with workplace data and the ability to translate operational metrics into strategic insights.

A Thoughtful Approach To Compensation
The hiring range for this role is $58,000 to $78,000.
