Experienced Litigation Paralegal – Family Law
McBride Legal Group, P.A. | Stuart, Florida
Full-Time | In-Office | $28.00–$38.00 Per Hour
McBride Legal Group, P.A. is a growing family-law firm seeking an experienced litigation paralegal who is organized, dependable, proactive, and capable of helping move active cases forward.
Florida family-law experience is strongly preferred but not required for an otherwise highly qualified litigation paralegal. We will consider candidates with substantial Florida civil-litigation experience and strong transferable skills in pleadings, discovery, court filings, calendaring, client communication, and hearing or trial preparation.
This is not an entry-level legal position. The successful candidate must already understand how litigation moves, how deadlines are managed, and how to take responsibility for assigned work without requiring constant follow-up.
What You Will Do
- Help manage assigned family-law cases from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and related litigation documents
- Prepare and organize financial affidavits, mandatory-disclosure materials, financial records, exhibits, and discovery responses
- Maintain calendars, deadlines, task lists, and electronic case files
- Coordinate hearings, mediations, depositions, discovery, and other case-related events
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
- Communicate with opposing counsel, judicial assistants, court personnel, experts, and other professionals
- Assist attorneys with hearing, mediation, deposition, and trial preparation
- Review active files, identify outstanding work, and help prevent matters from becoming stagnant
- Carry out attorney-directed case strategy accurately and efficiently
- Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized electronic files
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Have at least three years of recent paralegal or high-level litigation legal-assistant experience
- Have experience working in a Florida litigation practice
- Understand pleadings, discovery, court filings, deadlines, and hearing preparation
- Produce accurate written work and pay close attention to details
- Can independently manage competing assignments and deadlines
- Take ownership of your responsibilities and follow through consistently
- Communicate clearly and professionally with attorneys, coworkers, clients, and outside professionals
- Remain composed and solutions-oriented in a fast-moving environment
- Welcome accountability, feedback, and opportunities to improve
Particularly Valuable Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
- Florida divorce, paternity, timesharing, child-support, or post-judgment litigation
- Florida civil litigation
- Discovery and financial-document organization
- Hearing, deposition, mediation, or trial preparation
- Florida Courts E-Filing Portal
