Service Technician Description
Join our growing Team!! Ellens Equipment is looking for a personable, reliable and hardworking member to join our service team, focused on heavy equipment including New Holland, Pottinger, Meyer Mfg, Oxbo, MacDon, Geringhoff and more.
Ellens Equipment, Inc. is a family owned, agricultural, construction and landscaping equipment dealer. The company offers equipment repair services, parts and sales of several different types of equipment from a variety of manufacturers. Ellens Equipment has three locations in Michigan: McBain, Ithaca and Beal City.
Duties
As a service technician, your job duties would include but are not limited to:
- Diagnose equipment issues and give recommendations for repairs
- Perform all machine and/or engine repairs and adjustments
- Test and verify correct operations of all repairs
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers
- Set up new equipment to prepare it for sale
- Inspect and maintain rental equipment
- General and preventative maintenance
- Occasional welding and fabrication

Job Type: Full-time
Competency: The position requires experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. The ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Strong work ethic and a high level of integrity. Great attention to detail and a sound problem-solving ability.
Experience: Construction/Heavy Equipment Repair – 2+ years (Required)
Education: High school diploma. Technical training is also beneficial.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to safely operate equipment, mount and dismount equipment, safely hook-up, secure and transport equipment. Periods of extensive sitting, standing and squatting are routinely required. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
