Architectural Millwork Delivery Driver
Position Summary
The Architectural Millwork Delivery Driver is responsible for safely organizing, loading, transporting, and unloading high-end architectural millwork to job sites within a local delivery radius (generally under 100 miles). This role also assists installation crews with unloading, staging, and handling millwork on site, ensuring products arrive in excellent condition and projects stay on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Load Preparation & Organization
· Organize millwork loads according to delivery sequence and job requirements
· Verify delivery tickets, drawings, and packing lists prior to loading
· Secure millwork properly to prevent damage during transport
· Protect finished surfaces using padding, wrapping, and proper bracing
Truck Loading & Transport
· - Load delivery trucks safely and efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling
· - Operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
· - Perform local deliveries within approximately 100 miles of the shop
· - Maintain clean, organized delivery vehicles and report maintenance needs
Delivery & Unloading
· - Unload millwork carefully at job sites, warehouses, or residences
· - Coordinate with site supervisors, installers, or clients during deliveries
· - Stage materials neatly and safely in designated areas
· - Inspect millwork upon unloading and report any damage or discrepancies
Installation Support
· - Assist installation crews with moving, staging, and handling millwork on site
· - Help with basic prep tasks such as unpacking, sorting, and protecting materials
· - Follow installer direction to support efficient workflow
General Duties
· - Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures when required
· - Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and proper lifting techniques
· - Assist in the shop with material handling or cleanup when deliveries are not scheduled
Qualifications
· - Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL not required)
· - Experience driving box trucks or flatbed trucks preferred (automatic and straight drive)
· - Familiarity with construction sites and material handling
· - Ability to safely lift and carry heavy or oversized millwork components
· - Forklift experience preferred (or willingness to be trained)
· - Strong attention to detail and care for high-end finished products
· - Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Physical Requirements
· - Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly and heavier items with assistance
· - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb in and around trucks and job sites
· - Comfortable working in shop, warehouse, and active construction environments
What This Position Is Not Responsible For
· - Performing finish carpentry or permanent installation work
· - Driving long-haul or overnight routes
· - Managing customer billing or project scheduling
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
