Duties
- Measure and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately plan flooring layouts.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors to ensure optimal installation conditions.
- Install various flooring materials using hand tools and power tools with precision and attention to detail.
- Perform related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and water damage restoration as needed.
- Follow building installation safety compliance protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Handle manual tasks including lifting heavy materials, handling building supplies, and performing concrete finishing or remodeling work.
- Conduct floor care maintenance and buffing to ensure longevity and aesthetic appeal of installed floors.
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, carpentry, or related construction fields.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, saws, drills, and other power tools safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with building material installation standards and safety regulations specific to the construction industry.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy materials and working on elevated surfaces safely.
- Experience with restoration industry practices such as water damage restoration or floor care is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction site procedures with the ability to adapt quickly to project changes.
- Drivers license and vehicle
- Able to speak/understand English
