The School Gourmet is looking for a dependable, hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team at a school in Gainesville, Florida.
We prepare fresh, scratch-cooked meals for students every school day, and keeping a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen is an essential part of what we do. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, moves efficiently, and enjoys being part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, trays, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Operate and maintain the commercial dishwashing area
- Keep the dish room and surrounding kitchen areas clean and organized
- Sweep, mop, and assist with general kitchen cleaning
- Empty trash and maintain proper sanitation throughout the kitchen
- Assist the kitchen team with basic tasks as needed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and professional school kitchen environment
What We're Looking For
- Dependable and punctual
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
- Positive attitude and willingness to help the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift approximately 40–50 lbs.
- Commercial kitchen or dishwashing experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person
School Employment Requirements
Because this position works on-site in a school environment, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check and fingerprinting as a condition of employment.
