Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, including the use of 3D scanners and medical imaging tools.
- Take and develop X-ray images while maintaining proper radiation safety standards and accurately documenting findings in electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments aligned with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance details, and scheduling appointments using dental practice management software like Epic.
- Educate patients on oral health care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions in both English and Spanish to ensure clear understanding.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and proper sterilization procedures.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, or prosthodontics procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for managing medical documentation and records efficiently.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding enhances your ability to support clinical workflows effectively.
- Familiarity with X-ray technology, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging equipment is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures ensures patient safety and confidentiality.
