Job summary
- Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of Providers and Administration
- Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical task to keep the offices of running smoothly
- Responsible for arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Tasks include explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examinations and sometimes perform basic laboratory test
- Vision and hearing screenings, administer vaccines/immunization/injections
- Dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilized medical instruments as required
- Scheduling appointments, follow ups and/or referrals
- Maintain accurate medical records, history and updates
- Take and record vital signs
- Perform patient check-out procedures
- Collect laboratory specimens appropriately
- Assist Providers
- Provide clerical support to front desk such as customer service, collecting deductibles and co-pays
- Follow billing and coding procedures for insurance purpose
- Maintain an OSHA and HIPAA compliant working environment
Minimum requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Medical Assistant Diploma
- Six months to one year of physician office experience preferred
Abilities required
-
Fluent in English/Spanish
- Must be able to translate medical terms from English to Spanish
- Must be willing to travel thru out the city
- Reliable Transportation
- Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Applications
- Complex Problem Solving Skills
