Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Equipment Assistant to support our Quality Control team. This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
The Equipment Assistant will help maintain, organize, track, and prepare testing and inspection equipment for field use. The position will also assist with basic equipment maintenance, cleaning, minor repairs, inventory, and equipment check-in/check-out.
Training will be provided to the right candidate. Previous experience with construction equipment, tools, mechanical work, or quality control testing is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities:
· Assist with organizing and maintaining testing and inspection equipment.
· Help track equipment using company inventory or equipment management software.
· Check equipment in and out and maintain accurate records.
· Inspect equipment for damage, cleanliness, and proper operation.
· Clean and prepare equipment for use by field inspectors.
· Assist with basic maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs.
· Help identify equipment that needs repair, calibration, or replacement.
· Assist with equipment calibration and service activities as directed.
· Help troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
· Maintain an organized and clean equipment storage area.
· Assist with inventory counts and equipment audits.
· Load, unload, move, and transport equipment as needed.
· Ensure inspectors have the equipment and tools needed for their daily assignments.
· Communicate missing, damaged, or non-working equipment to the Equipment Manager.
· Provide support to Quality Control inspectors and field staff.
· Perform other equipment-related duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications:
· Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
· Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
· Interest in construction, tools, equipment, mechanics, or technical work.
· Previous experience with hand tools, power tools, automotive repair, construction, or equipment maintenance is a plus but not required.
· Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Good communication and problem-solving skills.
· Reliable, dependable, and able to work well with a team.
· Ability to safely lift, move, and transport equipment.
· Valid driver's license preferred.
