Hot Press Operator / Trimmer
Department: Production
Reports To: Hot Press Manager
Position Summary
The Hot Press Operator / Trimmer is responsible for operating hot press equipment and trimming manufactured components to meet company quality and production specifications. This is a hands-on production position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. No previous manufacturing experience is required; training will be provided.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, able to learn quickly, and comfortable working at a consistent production pace.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate hot press and trimming equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, position, and remove materials from the hot press.
- Trim finished products to required specifications.
- Read and accurately use a tape measure to verify dimensions.
- Inspect products for proper size, shape, and overall quality.
- Follow production instructions and established work procedures.
- Maintain a steady production pace while meeting quality requirements.
- Identify and report defective products, equipment problems, or safety concerns to supervision.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and required PPE procedures.
- Perform other production duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required:
- No previous manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.
- Ability to learn and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and production processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
- Ability to work safely around hot equipment, machinery, and manufactured components.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to heat, noise, dust, moving machinery, and hot materials. Employees must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Safety and Quality Expectations
The Hot Press Operator / Trimmer is expected to operate equipment safely, maintain accurate measurements, follow production procedures, and consistently produce quality products. Safety and quality are priorities and must be maintained while meeting established production expectations.
Training
On-the-job training will be provided. No prior experience operating a hot press or trimming equipment is necessary. The employee must demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn the required processes and safely perform the duties of the position.
