Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Roll Form Operator to join our daytime manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating roll forming machinery to produce high-quality metal components efficiently and safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in metal fabrication and machine operation. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate roll forming machines to produce metal parts according to technical specifications and blueprints
- Shop math to ensure accurate machine setup and product quality
- Conduct routine inspections of formed parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and adherence to quality standards
- Adjust machine settings and tooling as needed to maintain optimal production flow and product consistency
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe machine operation procedures
- Perform basic maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot issues, and communicate equipment concerns promptly
- Assist with material handling using forklifts when necessary, ensuring safe loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating forming machines such as press brakes, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or stamping presses is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control
- Basic understanding of shop math, including measurements, fractions, and geometric calculations
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and commitment to maintaining a safe workspace
- Ability to operate hand tools, tooling equipment, forklifts (certification preferred), cranes, and other machinery safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality metal components in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
Physical Demands: Regular use of hands to touch, hold, or feel. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms (including overhead); stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is offered for your use. There is no climate control.
