In the Storefront team, we are the first impression of a customer’s shopping experience; we own the design and implementation of the customer-facing website. We partner with Product, Experience Design, Analytics and business leaders across Wayfair; our Storefront Engineering teams ensure that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.
The Storefront Backend Platform team is responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting the core infrastructure and architecture that Storefront teams use to develop and deploy backend services. While Wayfair continues our technical transformation journey the SF BE Plat team is also out in front doing exploratory work, partnering with the central Infrastructure teams, and crafting service platform norms, tools, and patterns.

What You Will Do
Flex your strength and knowledge on Go, Java, DevOps, and service development environments.
Contribute to developing platforms services that are built to industry best practices, including observability, architectural patterns, and reliability
Write code to implement high-quality, scalable, future-proof services that will have effective system boundaries
Participate in team planning and delivery meetings in a way that actively supports the goals and success of the team
Identify risks and gaps in your assigned work and surface them to team leads
Work closely with product managers, designers, and peers to define project requirements and execution plans
What You Will Need
3+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large-company experience. eComm domain expertise is a bonus
Hands-on experience delivering software within high-growth environments at scale
Experienced in designing and building large-scale, cloud-based systems across various projects
Experience operating distributed services at scale, including familiarity with observability tools, logging techniques, troubleshooting, and incident response.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving solutions forward and ability to influence results
Expertise with one or more modern programming language (such as Python, Java, C#, Scala, GO, or others).
Experience with one or more common open source platforms, tools and framework, eg: Kafka, Kubernetes, Containerization, Java microservices, GraphQL APIs, Aerospike etc
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice to Have
Experience with Cloud Services and Containerized Infrastructure
Experience with devOps and CI/CD systems and best practices
Experience with various automated testing and deployment approaches and tools
Knowledgeable of microservice architecture and event driven design patterns
Technical documentation experience
